Rome to Barcelona – Day Thirty Four

Friday October 4

Veni, Vidi, Vici

We came, we saw, but I don’t think we came close to conquering Rome with its bewildering layered history. We definitely want to head back one day. But with our itinerary pushing us ever forward, we retraced our steps back to the train-station to head to Leonardo da Vinci International Airport. Somehow naming an airport after 16th century painter strikes me as both very Italian and slightly bonkers.

Barcelona

We arrived late afternoon into Barcelona, after the usual hotel palaver and finding something to eat, we headed out to try and see the Sagrada Família.

We saw these Churros in shop front on the way, not sure if we made a terrible life decision in not getting some, or very good one as they do look like edible heart attacks.
Found it
This elevation of the church is called the Passion Facade and depicts the death of Jesus, work started on it in 1954 and was completed in 1987.
