London – Day One

Sunday 1 September – After a quick 28.5 hours we arrived at Heathrow. Like Dubai takes a surprisingly long time for the plane to taxi to the gate. Just the size of these airports are huge. Lou & Jase gave us a great recommendation for a driver, it so good not having to think about catching the tube or train when you’re jet lagged. It also gave us a look of London driving in. We drove past the Greenfell Tower, which after seven years is still covered in building wrap. It’s pretty grim stuff. The inquiry into the fire was released later in our stay in London.

Our hotel is literally a two minute walk to the Tower of London. We decided to go for a walk down and ended up catching a tour bus. The guys hawking the tours are definitely grifters. But it turns out be a great way to see to sights quickly. London was not living up to its drizzly reputation and was a sunny 27C day.

Big Ben is the bell apparently.
Fourth Plinth – Trafalgar Square.
A chappie on a horse in Whitehall.
